Tantus Gary O2 Dildo

Sep

2015

It’s no secret that when I am looking for a good dildo, I tend to favour the more ‘realistic’ looking – it’s just what I like. Make it out of dual density silicone and you’ll have me salivating like a dog after a bone. True story.

So earlier on this year,Tantusdebuted some new editions to theirO2 line up– a series of dildos made from super-squishy dual density silicone. For those not in the know, it simply means there is a firmer silicone core coated by a softer, more marshmallow-like silicone on the outside. It really does give a dildo a much more ‘human’ feel. Whilst I appreciate that’s not for everybody, for me – it’s pretty much a guarantee that I am going to want to put it in me. I LOVE DUAL DENSITY. So tickle me extremely happy when the lovely folk over at my favourite dildo shop sent me not one, not two but THREE dual density dildos – theCush, theUncut #1and of course, the subject of this review… The GARY!

First Impressions

Gary was unveiled a couple of months ago, as one of the dual density toys that were going to be introduced throughout the year (those guys, such teases!). When it arrived, I was gutted that I had to go to work – however there was enough time for me to rip it from the packaging and give it a good squeeze (as I must do with ALL new dildos). It’s like, a comfort blanket thing.

Even more sad I have to work today – an Uncut, a Gary and a Cush just turned up! Thanks@Tantus_Pirate!! 😀pic.twitter.com/XiGDkRaIam

Speaking of packaging, the Gary arrives in much the same fare as most Tantus products – in a colourful cardboard box, nestled in a clear plastic tray, allowing you to feast your eyes on this silicone beauty. The Gary stands at 7 inches in insertable length and has a circumference of 4.75 inches (so this puts it roughly the same size as theFlurry).

Realistic in appearance, the shaft of Gary is covered in a typical ‘skin’ texture, and features a few rippling veins to further enhance the look. The head of the dildo also features skin folds and on the very tip, is a prominent urethral orifice (ooh, biology!). It’s available in 3 colours – Cream, Cocoa or Mocha (which is the colour we have).

The silicone has a matte feel to it, and in hand, it feels very firm but has a good amount of flex to it, as well as a nice ‘foamy’ squish. Because of the slightly matte feeling, you will want to ensure you use a good amount of water-based lube.

In Use

As this is a fairly slender dildo, like the Flurry, I thought I might be able to tackle this without much of a warm up. And for the most part, I was right – but I was caught off guard by the soft, squishy head. After applying a good coating of lubricant to both myself and the dildo, I got on my side and began to try to slip Gary inside.

The tip of Gary is rather ‘bulbous’ and is almost completely squishy. It’s slightly tapered, but not as much as the Flurry, so admittedly, it did take me a few attempts to relax enough to allow the tip to slide inside. But once it did, the rest of the dildo went in without much fuss. After the tip has gone in, the few ridges underneath the glans provided a nice bit of texture – it was subtle, but still noticeable – just. The first 2 inches of the Gary is this soft, mallow-like silicone which then gives way to the firmer, dual density silicone. For me, this again just gives that added realistic element that’s missing from other so-called ‘realistic’ dildos. Just looking like a penis isn’t enough for me.

Thanks to Gary’s 7 inches, it was able to provide enough length to help provide my prostate with a nice, gentle massage. There isn’t much of a curve in the shaft, but with a firm, vigorous thrust, I was able to enjoy some nice prostate stimulation. The rounded base is extremely easy to grip hold of, even when your hands are slightly slippery, ensuring I could get a firm grasp as I thrusted and plunged Gary deep inside.

Despite being roughly the same size as the Flurry, thanks to that slightly larger tip, the Gary left me feeling even fuller and despite the fact the girth of this dildo is fairly average compared to some of the others I have, it still felt like it was giving a mild stretch, which was still satisfying. However I did notice that using this, I did have to reapply lube more often, I think down to the overall texture – it feels a little ‘draggy’ after a while – but after a reapplication, I’m able to kick back and just thrust whilst I stroke myself to completion.

There is a part of me that wishes that this was suction cup/bullet compatible. For the most part, I do like to have a good ‘ride’ with my dildos and whilst it’s not completely impossible to do something, it’s not overly comfortable. However, it’s not the end of the world, and I can still have a good time whilst lying on my back/side and manually thrusting… it’s just a small longing, that’s all.

…there was enough time for me to rip it from the packaging and give it a good squeeze (as I must do with ALL new dildos).

On another occasion, I warmed the dildo up in a sink of hot water before use and let me just say, this combined with the dual density took it up to another level – with my eyes closed and my mind running wild, it just felt heavenly and the added warmth on the prostate was certainly most welcome – especially as the seasons are changing outside and we’re heading into winter.

Clean-up and Maintenance

Boil it, bleach it, dishwasher it – you can do whatever you want – it’s silicone, so it’s non-porous. However, I will say you will want to pay attention to ensure that all the ridges are completely clean. As this has a more realistic texture with the veins, and wrinkles, it’s easy for lube and other debris to get ‘stuck’ in-between the crevices. But once it’s clean and dry, you can store it with other silicone toys safely – although if you want to try and keep it dust free, a storage bag is recommended.

Summary

So Gary is definitely a fantastic addition to the O2 line-up. It’s modest girth will appeal to most, providing a challenge for beginners, or something comfortable for those intermediate and advanced players. The soft dual density silicone feels great and provides an element of realism that’s you don’t get from most dildos.

There is a mild texture here, so for those who aren’t overly fond of textured dildos might find this a happy compromise – it’s a soft texture – noticeable but not distracting or unpleasant. As an anal dildo, it’s got a decent length for some prostate stimulation and thanks to it’s modest girth, it’s a good warm up dildo when looking to tackle something a bit ‘meatier’. It’s the most realistic looking of the O2 range so far, and if you’ve enjoyed any of the other DD dildos, then Gary is definitely worth looking into.

The Lowdown| Tantus Gary O2 Dildo

Pros:Squishy, dual density silicone for a realistic feel. Has a much closer-to-life texture for those who strive for realism.

Cons:Those who crave girth may be less satisfied, and the tip is very spongy and round, making initial insertion slightly tricky.

Sex Toy Accessories :I honestly cannot fault Tantus and their dildos – they just hit the spot for me, and the dual density silicone just feels exquisite in both the hand and elsewhere. Perhaps Katie Peachesa on the slender side, but for those who want a bit more ‘realism’ in their dildos, Gary is simply gorgeous.
